Barker Street Apartments are located on campus overlooking the lush Village Green.
Built in 1996, Barker is the perfect fit for just about everyone. You’ll make friends, meet people and get the most out of a flat-share experience. Not only are you on campus, but you’re just minutes away from Kingsford Shops on Anzac Parade.
There are 59 apartments of various sizes, with an average room size of about 10 to 12 square meters.
It’s independent living in a community environment.

Each room has a desk, chair, bed, wardrobe and sofa in the living room. The kitchen has an oven and fridge, but you’ll need to bring your own cooking utensils.
Student support
Community Assistants are UNSW students who live at Barker Apartments. They engage with residents, organise social activities and act as the main contact for any issues or concerns that arise.
"My schedule is a little hectic. Often, I need to stay in the laboratory till very late, so having the freedom to cook my meals in my own kitchen is handy. I’ve got plenty of space in my bedroom and some pretty fantastic housemates."

Parking
UNSW provides a limited number of on-campus car parking spaces, which are managed by Estate Management.
Parking is free in designated bays outside permit hours (7:30 am to 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday).
If you park on High Street, never leave valuables in your car and always secure your vehicle as car thieves target this area.
There’s limited free motorbike parking and free bicycle racks.

The contract period is from 29 January 2025 to 28 January 2026. The two-bedroom apartments are suitable for families. Rates are per person unless otherwise specified.Â
