Research in gifted education focuses on the education, training and/or development of individuals of high ability. The Gifted Education Research, Resource and Information Centre () is an integral part of the research community that aims to advance knowledge and practice on the education, learning, teaching, wellbeing,and development of gifted students. GERRIC is the pre-eminent centre of gifted education in the Southern Hemisphere.

    Australian Mensa project 

    An investigation of the development of mathematical talent among International Maths Olympians and their post-education career decisions.

    Gifted education program evaluation projects

    Research relating to the evaluation of gifted education programs in schools (projects have been completed for two schools)

    Twice exceptional students project 

    A series of projects on an educational/vocational curriculum for twice exceptional students are being conducted with ASPECT (Autism Spectrum Australia) and Griffith University.
