Our research is focused around four broad areas: history, philosophy, language studies and human geography.聽Within those areas, we engage in research that covers topics聽ranging from ancient Greek and modern European philosophy, the history of聽migration and global empire, classical and modern Chinese literature, interpreting聽in legal settings, language revival聽in Australia and around the world, and investigating ways to聽better protect聽the environment.聽

Asian studies researchers聽explore pressing problems of the current era as well as ongoing puzzles about past societies. We seek to enhance progress towards the formation of just societies, social progress and economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability in the Asian region and Australia by disseminating informed discussion based on a deep knowledge of Asia.
