Katrina Iannella

Bachelor of Commerce (International Business), Bachelor of Science (Microbiology)

Fully immersing in other cultures deepened Katrina's experience and understanding of the differences and similarities between Australian and international business environments.

She took short courses in social innovation, entrepreneurship and public speaking at Harvard University and the London School of Economics and Political Science, and went on exchange to Purdue University.

In Australia, Katrina studied with people from around the world. UNSW's global-minded outlook meant she could practice intercultural communication and understand international business practices from classmates as well as lecturers. Now, her friends and career contacts are worldwide.

Katrina initially thought she would study traditional business subjects like accounting and finance. She quickly realised she had a keen interest in intercultural communication, negotiation and international business acumen. She then chose a major more aligned to her personal preferences within the flexible Bachelor of Commerce.

Katrina's degree developed essential industry skills. She can think critically and resolve conflict when under pressure. She can proficiently write and synthesise complex information and communicate with diverse personalities. It's all in a day's work as a Private Clients Consultant at PwC.
