Robots are being developed to serve in a variety of roles within the medical environment, including surgical robots, rehabilitation robots, assistive care robots and industrial robots for routine tasks, such as sterilising rooms and delivering medication, medical supplies and equipment. Our research focuses on a number of challenges in the development of these robots including haptic control, vision and safety, which require skills in electronics, mechatronics, manufacturing and system integration.
