Anmol Goyal
PhD Candidate
School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
UNSW Water Research Laboratory
Anmol began his PhD in 2025, the focus of his project is to employ machine learning models to detect rip currents from satellite images.
The results from Anmol’s research will be compared with methods developed using other digital images such as IR and CoastSnap. It will further involve identifying and quantifying some of the factors that effect and cause rip currents and linking it with the detection model to possibly create an early-warning system for rip currents.
