10am - 12pm
Room 102, Electrical Engineering Building (Map Ref: G17), UNSW Sydney
UNSW started working with colleagues at Yangon Technological University (YTU) in 2013 after the campus reopened to teaching following an imposed closure, beginning in 1988, by the previous military government.聽Since then, the partnership has flourished.
UNSW has聽shared equipment, expertise and course material to help rebuild YTU's engineering degree programs and strong collaborations have been forged covering a variety of discipline areas including聽water and wastewater treatment, natural resource extraction and its impacts, renewable and remote area energy systems, and urban planning. UNSW and YTU have a joint passion to help mitigate these existing issues and better prepare for the future.
During this morning tea discussion we will hear from the Rector, Prof.聽Myint Thein, and the Head of the聽International Relations Office,聽A/Prof.聽Myo Myint Han as they reflect on the partnership to date, and consider the benefits and challenges of international partnerships between universities.
