Dharriwaa Elders Group Elders Council and staff meeting on 22 November 2024 with UNSW Yuwaya Ngarra-li colleagues from the Division of Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement and the Global Water Institute.

In November, we were delighted to welcome the Dharriwaa Elders Group to UNSW Sydney to discuss our collaborative projects and future opportunities for progressing the DEG’s vision for positive change in their community through the Yuwaya Ngarra-li Partnership.

The Elders Council was visiting Sydney for the annual meeting of the NSW Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and Arts Association. On their last day in Sydney, they spent time on campus with colleagues from the Global Water Institute including long-term collaborators Professor Greg Leslie and Associate Professor Martin Andersen along with the Yuwaya Ngarra-li team at UNSW.

Vice President Verity Firth and Pro-Vice Chancellor Societal Transformation and Equity Bruce Watson and other key colleagues from the Division of Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement joined us for lunch, which was a wonderful opportunity to connect newer members of our teams and plan for 2025.
