With a background in human resources, Andrew's primary area of research is workplace relationships with supporting areas of interest in mentoring, family business, and social networks. Across these topics, he is currently working on projects related to organisational change, work arrangements, turnover, and developmental networks.

Alongside Prof Karin Sanders, he leads UNSW Business School's Hybrid Work Leadership (HWL) research lab. HWL is an applied and translational research lab on the topic of hybrid and flexible work arrangements with specific expertise on learning organisations and activities, human resource management, and employee work relationships. Funded by industry and university contributions, our lab generates industry deliverables and promotes research outcomes with an emphasis on creating better organisations via their employee work arrangements.

Andrew's work has been featured across many popular media outlets (print, radio, and television) including Sydney Morning Herald, Sky News, 2GB, Qantas Magazine, Canberra Times, HRM Magazine, 2CC Talking Canberra, Australian Financial Review, and The New Daily. Andrew currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. At UNSW, Andrew remains actively involved across UNSW's suite of HRM degrees. Most recently, Andrew has been leading and coordinating UNSW Online's Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) program which launched in late 2023.

My Research Supervision

I currently supervise three PhD students at various stages in their program.

My Teaching

At UNSW, I regularly teach MGMT2002: Managing Business Communication and MGMT3729: Managing Training & Development. I also developed ZZBU6401: HR Policies & Practices for UNSW Online.

At previous institutions, I have taught a wide variety of courses: Human Resources, Business Communication, Compensation, Principles of Management & Production, Managerial and Behavioral Processes, Organizational Theory, and Family Business/Entrepreneurship.
