Dr Babak Shahbodagh received his PhD from Kyoto University in 2011. He was awarded the Monbusho Scholarship for his PhD program from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Japan. He聽is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW. His research interests include:

Dr Shahbodagh has conducted original research in the fields of 鈥渄ynamics of unsaturated soils鈥, 鈥渄ynamic pile-soil interaction鈥, 鈥減lasticity and viscoplasticity鈥, 鈥渟train localisation in multiphase porous media鈥, and 鈥渟eismic analysis of geo-structures鈥. The outcomes of his research have been published in top-ranked Q1 journals in the field, including Int J Numer Anal Meth Geomech, Com&Geo, Int J Geomech, J Mat Civ Eng, and Acta Geotechnica, and Constr Build Mater.
