Dr Hasebe is an active researcher and joined Prof. Margaret Morris laboratory in the School of Biomedical Sciences at UNSW Sydney in 2020. Her PhD in Medicine was awarded in June 2018 from Deakin University. Her work investigates converging area of impacts of environmental factors such as diets and stress on the peripheral and central immune system, gut microbiome and affective behaviour in animal models and clinical populations Her current work with Prof. Margaret Morris (SoMS) and Prof. Fred Westbrook (Psychology) explores underlying mechanisms of effects of maternal obesity on behavioural outcomes in offspring.
