Dr Cahalane holds a BSc in Information Systems and a PhD in Information Systems from University College Cork, Ireland.

Dr Cahalane's research activities encompass both theoretical and practical dimensions of Information Systems. His work explores digital work practices, algorithmic and executive decision-making, and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on digital work, digital play and immersive environments (Metaverse).
My Teaching
Dr Cahalane currently teaches the Information Systems Undergraduate Capstone course, INFS3605, which is centrally organised around practical, experiential, group software projects that employ agile scrum and the double diamond framework. Additionally, Dr Cahalane instructs the postgraduate course COMM8003 Advanced Qualitative Research Methods聽and serves as the undergraduate honours coordinator for the School of Information Systems & Technology Management.
