Simon Clay's research focuses on the relationship between drug use, substance dependence treatment, and well-being, with a particular focus on risk and embodiment. Simon's work extends into the sociology of health and how public health policy is developed and enacted. They have an expertise in qualitative research methodologies, research ethics, and trauma-informed approaches to research. In addition to this, Simon has a strong interest in gender studies, contemporary feminisms, social geographies, poststructural theory, and constructions of health and illness.
