STUDENT'S ARTWORK

ARTIST STATEMENT

INTERACTA places us in a abstracted prehistoric setting where a storm has separated Dino parents from their eggs which have been blown away. As a collective be you become the guardians of these eggs and are tasked with completing the hatching ritual. Guided by MYST, a spirit guardian, you are to work together to complete several tasks.  The interaction is intended for all, catering to be accessible for all ages and abilities. You will receive a zine that offers further assistance.   The work introduces us to a collective responsible for our environment by showing how "waste" materials can be reused.

Artwork medium: Dual screen projection, car tyres, textile eggs, sound

ARTIST INTRODUCTION

Working through print making, textiles, found objects, moving image and sound, my work typically critiques the state of affairs we find ourselves in since we have succumb to colonial rule. My work attempts to celebrate ancient wisdoms through deep conceptual writing that manifests into works often speaking to the earth through materiality. I rely on memories, humour and the handmade to being the audience into a tactile experience.
