STUDENT'S ARTWORK

ARTIST STATEMENT

In East Asian cultures, many parents often define success within a narrow template, shaping their children to fit specific expectations. While parents, who sacrifice everything for their children’s future 'success,' justify their demands with the phrase, 'We require you to do this because we love you.' I aim to visualise these negative impacts this approach can have on children's potential, creativity, and the parent-child relationship through this collage animation. The art style is inspired by Zagreb School's idea "limited animation", glitch arts and dadaism.

Artwork medium: Collage Animation, Adobe AfterEffects
