ARTIST STATEMENT
This is a personal project completed outside of class. It was inspired by an online game I played as a child in China called “Moer Zhuangyuan”. The tree house was a “product” I could purchase as a decoration for my game avatar’s home. I remembered this tree house ever since I was around 8 years old as it was my dream– an elf who lived in a magical tress house in the forest and had many animal friends, I have imaged counted time in my head what it would look like. Working on this project was full of magical moments as I felt empowered that I learned the skills to virtualise my imagination into images to share with others.

ARTIST INTRODUCTION
My name is Shumeng, and some of my friends call me Emma. I am a master of design student with a great passion for animation and VFX. I didn’t come from a traditional art background, my undergraduate degree was in Finance but I have always had a great interest in superhero movies, which is where I was inspired to be in the animation and VFX field.
