Artist statement

Hoons & Goons is a series of large-scale coloured ink drawings depicting tongue-incheek scenes of  Australian women engaging in traditionally masculine social activities aligned with mateship. Using mark-making techniques learnt from collagraph printmaking and a limited palette to reference the traditional comic book, the work depicts strong, masculine and gender nonconforming women within a fantasy realm of  Aussie male invulnerability.
