Artist statement

Noodlemaps explores expanded forms of drawing through oil pastel, digital print and silicone sculpture. The work came out of a process of translation between digital and physical artmaking. The print was generated as a texture for a digitised clay sculpture. The silicone sculpture element translates the mechanical 3D printing process into a manual one of repetitive extrusion. Line is the unifying feature of this installation, as a means for mapping and translating form between media.
