Understanding Student Equity@UNSW

The Understanding Student Equity at ±«±·³§°ÂÌýonline modules will build student and staff understanding of the Gateway Equity Target (GET), widening participation in higher education more broadly, and how we are working to transform the undergraduate student community at UNSW.

You’ll hear directly from students who have entered UNSW through the Gateway Admission Pathway and will gain useful insights into their experience.

By completing the course, you will learn about:

  • what UNSW’s GET is and the key initiatives that support its progress
  • the importance of creating access pathways to university for students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, such as the Gateway Admission Pathway and Program 
  • the current demographics and academic profile of the Gateway cohort
  • how the Gateway cohort represents a diverse group of students, with each student bringing unique knowledge and experiences to UNSW
  • the strengths that students from underrepresented backgrounds, and having a diverse student body, bring to the UNSW community.

  • The course is open to all current students. It consists of one self-paced module, which will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.Ìý

    1. Ensure you are logged into Moodle.
    2. Access the course using .Ìý
    3. ±«²Ô»å±ð°ùÌýself-enrolment (student) enter the self-enrolment key (Learner-USE-UNSW-StuSite) to access the course.Ìý

  • The course is open to all current staff. It consists of three self-paced modules, which will each take approximately 15 minutes to complete.Ìý

    1. Log into  and click on My Staff Profile 
    2. Click Learning and Development 
    3. Click Search by Course Number 
    4. Enter Course Code: ·¡²Ï±«±õ°Õ³ÛÌýand click Search 
    5. Select View Available Sessions 
    6. Select Session 0001. For all online courses, there is only one session.Ìý
    7. Ensure the waiting list check box is ticked and click Continue 
    8. Click Submit

    The course will appear in your Moodle dashboard within 24-48 hours.
