Your Doctors of Tomorrow

Striving for a sustainable Medical Workforce for Rural and Regional Australia.

The Border Regional Training Hub (BRTH) is located on the NSW and Victorian border and collaborates with both States to facilitate the development of rural and regional training opportunities which contribute to career pathways within a sustainable rural medical workforce.

The UNSW Regional Training Hub, as a partner in the Southern Regional Training Hub Alliance, has played a pivotal role in the the development of the Regional Medical Training (RMT) Website.

Our collaboration has resulted in the The Southern Regional Training Hub Alliance (SRTHA) and the NSW Hubs Network combining to expand theÌý.Ìý

We work closely with our local health serviceÌýÌýand other regional Health organisations to:

  • Identify community need and support the accreditation process of training posts to meet this need
  • Identify medical students and junior doctors with an interest in rural and regional career pathways and provide focussed support and skill development to enable them toÌýreach their goals.

We can:

  • Introduce you to key stakeholders within the health service who can provide direction and career information
  • Identify training opportunities being provided by external education providers that benefit all medical staff
  • Work collaboratively with specialist colleges and GP regional training organisations to support JMO/RMOs with a specific career pathway.

We showcase the best of what rural and regional areas careers have to offer. There are many rewards that rural and regional areas provide for doctors and their families, not the least being a sense of local community.
