The Research Station has a range of facilities to cater for individuals and groups engaged in education or research at the station.
- The tarrifs are available on request.
- UNSW staff and students and alumni聽receive a special rate on tariffs.
- Visitors from other institutions and the general聽public pay a modest premium on UNSW rates by negotiation.
- Discounts are offered to long-term research groups and students where long-term is defined as visits聽>聽14 days.
- International groups聽will be managed by the聽聽office of New South Global.聽Residencies for artists聽will be negotiated by the Imaging the Landscape International Research Institute.聽Art & Design student use of the Green House聽is managed by聽.
- Rates for聽commercial visitors聽(e.g. film crews) will likewise be negotiated and include a charge to access the property.
- Visitors must self-cater and bring their own food (the nearest large shopping centre is Broken Hill).
A quotation on your accommodation needs can be obtained by contacting the聽Station Director. If the purpose of your visit is聽eco-tourism聽then please use the聽booking form. All bookings should be made with the Station Director. Contact details are given at the bottom of this form.聽All rates are inclusive of GST if applicable.
Please note:聽There is no camping allowed on the property, exceptions may be made within the homestead complex for very large groups.

Accommodation for large groups is provided in a 32-bed dormitory, partitioned into two large sleeping rooms, each with toilets and showers.A pillow and pillow-slip is provided with each bed. Communal kitchen and eating facilities front the bedrooms. Crockery, cutlery, cooking pots and pans and common appliances are supplied. There is a large walk-in coolroom, standard fridge/freezer and large chest freezer. A large gas barbecue is available for outside use. A laundry is at the rear.

Accommodation for medium-sized groups is provided in the Quarters. Eating facilities and bathroom are communal. Bedrooms have two single beds with electric blankets. The facility has ducted evaporative cooling for summer. A large space to seat up to 100 is available for seminars, conferences, teaching and workshops. AV facilities including digital project can be supplied.Free-to-air satellite television is available. A large kitchen with freezers and walk-in coolroom enables quality catering for large groups. A laundry is attached.聽Flat: A two-bedroom self-contained flat is available on the southern side of the quarters.

Accommodation for short-stay small groups or long-stay research groups is provided in a 4-bedroom cottage with bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities. All bedding and cooking/eating utensils are supplied. The cottage has ducted evaporative cooling for summer; electric blankets and a gas heater for winter.

Accommodation for long-term researchers (e.g. postgraduate, honours or practicum students; or academic staff on study leave) is provided in two fully equipped 2-bedroom cottages. Cottage 3 has an additional 2-bed demountable room and caravan, and free-to-air satellite television.

The Ochre House is situated in a remote gorge on the Station. The building is a single large space with bathroom and toilet facilities partitioned off and a generous balcony with gas barbecue. The House is powered by a 12V hybrid wind/photovoltaic system and has a recycling/composting system for waste management. Bedding and cooking/eating utensils are supplied. Cooking is聽al fresco聽on the outside barbecue, or inside on a single burner. A small 110 litre fridge is supplied. There are no communications (a satellite phone is strongly recommended) and no active cooling for hot weather.

Tariff:聽Priority is given to Art & Design postgraduate students who should arrange bookings with聽ARC@UNSW. The studio may become available to other short-term visitors under terms similar to the Ochre House.
