Information for researchers and students
The NSW Child Development Study is conducted by a team of University-based researchers who work in close collaboration with several Australian state and commonwealth government agencies. With multiple waves of record linkage set to occur as the children develop, the data available for analysis is continually growing, and the number of collaborating researchers is expected to increase in the coming years.
We welcome new domestic and international collaborations that expand the expertise of the research team and increase the scope of the study outcomes. Please direct initial requests for collaboration to Professor Melissa Green.
In evaluating requests for collaboration the research team will consider whether the proposal is aligned with the study aims, the overlap with ongoing studies, logistic consequences and resource implications, in addition to the mutual benefits of the proposed collaboration.
Data Access Policy
Access to the anonymised data gathered for the NSW Child Development Study is restricted to a small group of researchers approved by the Human Research Ethics Committees.
Data storage and use is restricted by Commonwealth and State privacy and personal information laws, professional ethical requirements, and by strict internal data access protocols. Access to record linkage data used in the study is covered by the relevant State and Commonwealth laws, and by the procedures of the different data custodians (for example NSW Department of Education, or the NSW Department of Health). Information is only ever available for legitimate research in an anonymous format that prevents identification of individual schools or participants.聽
Student research projects
