Research in Acoustics at UNSW focuses on the voice, musical instruments and the聽instrument-player interaction,聽and more general issues such as information in music. We have a聽presenting our research at a non-technical level, as well as our formal聽. The Acoustics Group has developed techniques for rapid, precise measurement of acoustic impedance spectra and transfer functions under a range of conditions, for producing precisely known acoustic currents and for minimising harmonic distortion. Our research is supported by the Australian Research Council聽and by instrument makers, music teachers, performers and ensembles.
