Are you an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person interested in obtaining a higher degree? A generous scholarship is now available from The School of Population Health and UNSW for a Masters or PhD in Aboriginal youth health and wellbeing.

We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates to undertake Masters by Research (MRes), Masters in Philosophy (MPhil) or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). There are a several potential research topics open including:

• Understanding how factors related to social and emotional wellbeing, cardiometabolic risk, and avoidable injury vary across the adolescent age spectrum in the ‘Next Generation’ cohort.
• Exploring how Aboriginal cultural health, health behaviours and social challenges impact young Aboriginal people’s health and wellbeing in the ‘Next Generation’ cohort
  
• Working collaboratively with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to explore preventive actions and knowledge translation.

Are you interested in attaining a higher degree? Scholarships are available from UNSW Sydney for a PhD in research on mathematical models for pandemic preparedness.

The research program will involve exploring existing and new mathematical models for pandemic pathogens (using the example of COVID-19). The program will be based on identifying priorities for improving modelling frameworks, with a particular focus on capturing impacts of Public Health and Social Measures (PHSMs), in addition to vaccination. The candidate will join the team of researchers at theÌýInfectious Disease Dynamics and Interventions research groupÌýin the School of Population Health, and engage with collaborators at The Kirby Institute, University of Melbourne, and internationally.

Genomic diagnostics have revolutionised targeted therapeutic and preventative measures in oncology and cancer genetics. Despite increased access, the implementation of genomics-based care faces challenges due to fragmentation and insufficient system support. The Precision Care Initiative, a 5-year project funded by MRFF-RART, aims to establish an innovative and sustainable Precision Care model. With the inaugural Precision Care Clinic (PCC) established at the Prince of Wales Hospital, this Initiative focuses on:

• Coordinating precision medicine in oncologyÌý
• Streamlining decision support for oncologists and geneticistsÌý
• Enhancing care quality through comprehensive, patient-centred communicationÌý
• Improving translational capacity by integrating expertise in precision oncology, implementation science, clinical informatics, cancer genetics, health economics, and patient-reported outcomes.

To sustain this effort, we are offering a fully funded PhD scholarship. The successful candidate will lead the sustainment and sustainability components of the project through exploring and driving policy level changes to ensure precision oncology is integrated into routine healthcare.Ìý

$40,000 per annum, 3.5 years.
