Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • No, there is no application process. Your Faculty/School will nominate UNSW prize winners based on outstanding performance in particular courses. Prizes are awarded on the recommendation of the Head of School.

  • Your Faculty/School will contact you in writing. All UNSW prize winners are published on our website.

  • Congratulations on your achievement! Prizes are awarded at the beginning of each academic year for the previous academic year. Monetary prizes are paid via electronic funds transfer. Your prize will be recorded on your academic transcript.

    If you have won a monetary prize, your notification email will include a reimbursement form to complete.

  • UNSW prizes are awarded at the beginning of each academic year, usually in January or February, for the previous years academic achievement.

  • Prizes can take many forms, including:

    • The prestigious University Medal
    • Cash awards
    • Medals and trophies
    • Books and book vouchers
    • Certificates of achievement
