Good Sammy Enterprises (GSE), an Australian Disability Enterprise based in Western Australia, are trialling new approaches to support people with disability to find and sustain open employment.

The traineeship trial and the hybrid open employment trial are two initiatives funded and to be evaluated to assess the impact and outcomes for people with disability, and the effectiveness of the approaches to changing pathways into open employment. The findings from the trial evaluations will help inform the transformation of the Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) sector through generating evidence of effectiveness.

The evaluation research is a mixed methods developmental evaluation design. The evaluators are from the Social Policy Research Centre, UNSW Sydney (SPRC), the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) at University of Western Australia, and two community researchers with lived experience supported by Valued Lives, a peer-led disability community organisation in Perth.
