Microsoft's Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (ADT4T) Program, formerly known as Microsoft Imagine Standard and Premium, is a subscription service offering a wide range of Microsoft tools for developers and designers, along with cloud services and resources catered to students and educators.Ìý
ADT4T is available to some accredited academic units and departments. It provides access to tools commonly used in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs.

Note: Users must now apply for access to ADT4T annually. When you apply, you will be taken to the ADT4T site directly and agree to their terms and conditions. To apply, please see the "How do I start using ADT4T?" section below.
Access to Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is available to all UNSW staff and students, provided they follow these guidelines:
- These entitlements are available without limitations to enhance your academic research and learning experience. However, please note that the software should not be used for commercial profit or business-related activities.
- Product keys provided via the ADT4T portal are intended for the sole purpose of activating the software on personal student and faculty machines. It is prohibited to share or transfer these keys.
- The software must only be used for learning, teaching and research purposes.

How do I start using ADT4T?
If you are new to ADT4T, or if you requested access over 12 months ago, please apply using the button below.
You will receive email confirmation when your application is approved, and you can then access the offering via the portal link below using your zID@ad.unsw.edu.au credentials (do not click "get started" in the email).
Once signed in, click on the software tab to view the list of applications available for download.
Note: some applications require a product key. These keys can be accessed through the ADT4T portal and are unique to your account. Product keys should not be shared between users.

Microsoft Bookings
Microsoft Bookings is now enabled for all UNSW staff.
Microsoft Bookings is an appointment scheduling tool, and it is part of Microsoft 365 suite. It allows you to create and manage a booking page for your services and customers. It is integrated with your Office 365 calendar.
Microsoft Bookings service has 2 sections:
- Personal Booking Page -Ìýalso known as "Bookings with me"
This section can be setup/configured by individuals as it links to your own calendar only.
Go toÌýÌýto find out how to configure this. - Shared Booking Page -ÌýThis calendar is for a service (e.g, student services, consultation, etc.) which has access to a group of people/resources calendars. It will be used to book time for that service.

Microsoft Stream is an enterprise video service where people in an organisation can upload, view, organise and share videos securely. It is intended for anyone who is interested in using videos within the university to connect, collaborate, learn, and share information. Anyone can search for videos easily and consume them on their device, whenever and wherever.
Share recordings of classes, live events, meetings, presentations, training sessions, or other videos that aid in student and staff collaboration and learning.
UNSW encourages the use of digital media and staff and students must ensure that their content is not in breach with UNSW’sÌýÌýand procedures.
It is important to note the following:
- Secure storage of your content
- Set permissions to view your content either by channel or group
- Upload your video direct from OneDrive
- Access via any web browser or mobile device
- Video content is stored for three months
How to access Microsoft Stream
All UNSW staff with a University Microsoft Office 365 account can upload to Stream and share videos with other UNSW Staff and Students. Please note that Microsoft Stream videos cannot currently be shared with users outside of UNSW.

NI Online Training is accessible to UNSW staff and students 24-hours a day. Each online training course contains multimedia training modules that cover the same topics as the corresponding instructor-led course, interactive quizzes to test your understanding, and challenging exercises and their solutions. Use online training for a quick refresher on technical topics or to prepare for an upcoming certification exam.
To access this training, you will need to create a NI user profile with a @unsw.edu.au email address. If you have an existing user profile, modify it to use @unsw.edu.au email address.

- If you have UNSW VPN access or are using MATLAB on a UNSW/ADFA device that will remain on the UNSW/ADFA campus, you'll need a license key. Go to Software license keysÌýusing your zID email and password and download the installation guide for MATLAB.
- If you don't have access to UNSW VPN:
- Download the installer
- Visit theÌý, then select ‘Sign in to get started’ under the Get MATLAB and Simulink section.
- Log into your MathWorks account that is associated to your UNSW license. Create an account if you have not done so previously, you will need to use your staff or student UNSW email address for this.
- Click the download button for the current release. (UNSW only uses the latest ‘b’ release of MATLAB as their supported version).
- Choose a supported platform and download the installer.
- Install and activate
- Run the installer.
- In the installer, select Log in with a MathWorks Account and follow the online instructions.
- When prompted to do so, select the Academic – Total Headcount license labelled Individual.
- Select the products you want to download and install.
- After downloading and installing your products, keep the Activate MATLAB checkbox selected and click Next.

Working with NVivo for Windows and NVivo for Mac
You can transfer NVivo projects between NVivo for Windows and NVivo for Mac. Projects will have different file formats, and before converting any projects we recommend to backup your project and understand the cross-platform limitations and issues - all data may not successfully convert due to restrictions on data interchange between operating systems. Please note that to work with a project in this way, you must be using the newest version of NVivo for Mac with the newest version of NVivo for Windows, and not a combination of new and old NVivo releases. For example, you can’t work with a project in this way using the first release of NVivo for Mac and latest release of NVivo for Windows.

Accessing applications via myAccess
You can access applications on demand by taking advantage ofÌý. This service provides a virtual application solution to support coursework learning and teaching for academics and students. Access specialised software applications using a variety of devices, as long as you have a reliable Internet connection.
Applications hosted on myAccess must not be used for commercial or revenue generating activities, or to facilitate research.
Accessing applications via Katana
Katana is a shared computational cluster located on campus at UNSW that has been designed to provide easy access to computational resources for groups working with non-sensitive data. With over 4000 CPU cores spread over a large number of compute nodes each with up to 1Tb of memory, Katana provides a flexible compute environment where users can run jobs that wouldn't be possible or practical on their desktop or laptop.

Terms and conditions of use
Software Distribution is a service where UNSW IT has negotiated with selected software vendors to obtain optimum prices and conditions for the distribution of software on campus. In many cases, software is distributed cost-free as part of a UNSW-wide site license.
The software listing below is intended for installation on personal and Non-Standard Operating Environment (SOE) devices where applicable.
If your school has issued you with your own UNSW device, you can install softwareÌýusing theÌý'Company Portal' appÌýfor a Windows device or on your Mac device by using theÌý'Self-Service' app.
UNSW software distribution licensing conditions
The software listed above has been purchased as part of a volume licensing agreement between UNSW IT and the software vendors.Ìý
- Licences can be purchased on behalf of faculties, units or staff of UNSW.Ìý
- Licensed Software can be used only for study, research, teaching and administrative purposes for UNSW.Ìý
- Licences cannot be used for commercial purposes.Ìý
- Anyone who does not fall within the licensed user groups (listed above) for any software product must obtain copies of the software from a retailer.Ìý
- You may create backup copies of the software for archive and restoration purposes except where specifically excluded (see vendor specific conditions above).Ìý
- Purchase of a licence allows you to download the software from the Software Distribution Server except where specifically excluded (see vendor specific conditions above). You will be given access to this server when you purchase the software.Ìý
- Manuals are not included.Ìý
- Licences can be purchased on behalf of faculties, units or staff of UNSW.Ìý
